Following the second Anglo-Maratha War, Peshwa Baji Rao II looked for a way to solidify his Armies to push out the forces of the East India Trading Company. Due to a secret arrangement with the Republic of America, who was spiteful following the war of 1812, the Peshwa was able to defeat the Company at the battle of Pune with his soldiers equipped with increased Industrialized weaponry, in pushing the East India company out of the region, followed by the surrounding regions ending with the Sepoy Rebellion of 1857. Once power was secured, each country was able to establish its own government with representatives provided to unify under a council lead confederacy. the new Council headed government led its nations to becoming a trading hub: using the large Marathan navy of small fast ships, Pashtuns control of trade routes, and Punjabi agricultural and industrial production.
The Council is currently led by three leaders representing the 3 largest Political groups of the Confederacy: Bahudar Shah Zafar, Aga Khan III, Maharaja Shahu, & Jathedar Akali Baba Teja Singh. The confederacy maintains its power globally through their large amounts of production and control of trade. The confederacy has claimed territory on the inner earth as they will be able to expand their production and possibly create new trade routes to the rest of the world.
Game Play:
The Warriors of the Swadeshi operate in a light and fast manner with a focus on clearing the decks of enemy ships and advantages when fighting in close combat.
The forces are made up of the soldiers of the sub-factions of the confederacy: Sipahi, Mavales, and Nihang. With lighter armor, their forces are amassed of more troops than many opponents and when fighting in close combat gain advantages in their skill and numbers, adding an additional die when 3 or more of them fight in close combat. when commanded by Havildars, the troops fear nothing and are more than happy to jump from ship to ship, even when they are twice as far away.
